EagarTéacs (text editor)

EagarTéacs is a basic text editor for Android which is more or less a clone of Paul Mach's classic Text Edit. Originally it started out as a fork updated to deal with problems caused by removal of support for the menu button, but with the tightening up of security in Android 10 this was eventually abandoned in favour of a rewrite from scratch due to difficulties retrofitting things like the Storage Access Framework to the decade-old codebase.

Privacy policy

EagarTéacs does not make use of any personal data, and aside from access to Google Drive via the Storage Access Framework it has no networking capability. Aside from a few preferences such as font size and the location of the most recently opened file, the only data it accesses is the content of the text file being edited by the user.
